My Manuka Honey Yogurt Bowl Recipe

The smoothie bowl craze finally hit the Stratton household. I have to wonder after giving it a go, “What took me so long?!” Not only are these bowls delicious, but they are quick, easy, and most importantly, toddler approved! It reminds me of when I was single and living alone in my first apartment. I would come home from work and look in my fridge to see what I could throw together. Chopped on Food Network was huge then, so I would see what 4 or 5 ingredients I could make into a meal. If only I knew about smoothie bowls back then…
The possibilities are endless as to what goes into your bowl. I love fresh fruit and even throw in frozen blueberries or raspberries from time to time. Your base can be your favorite yogurt, protein power blended with ice, or for a true smoothie bowl, add frozen fruit and a little almond milk to the blender for a fabulous smoothie bowl base.
For this recipe, I made my Manuka Honey Yogurt Bowl. I went with vanilla yogurt as my base. Then I mixed in raspberries, my favorite granola, some dark chocolate mini chips, and topped with the most amazing Manuka honey drizzle. I highly suggest the honey drizzle on any bowl. Manuka honey is not overly sweet and adds a smooth, floral flavor to the bowl. It truly is like the “cherry on top.”
After learning about how smoothie and yogurt bowls are a great way to get in some protein, fruit, fiber, and other important food groups, adding in Manuka honey seemed like the way to go to. Manuka honey is not just honey. It is antibacterial and bacterial resistant. My go-to brand for this special honey Is Manukora. Their honey is sourced in New Zealand from the Manuka forests. It is raw, unpasteurized, non-GMO, Project Verified, Antibiotic-free, and traceable. You can taste the difference and feel the benefits of this honey. It is also wonderful for my nightly hot tea.
Have you jumped on the smoothie bowl trend? If not, this is your PSA to whip one up for yourself soon. If you have, I would love to hear what your favorite toppings and mix-ins are for your bowl.
